North East marketing and design agency Blue Moon Marketing is to scale up with the appointment of seven vacancies following a number of new contract wins.

The agency provides marketing services including branding and design, strategy and planning, website development, social media management and content and copywriting services and is looking for experienced account managers, graphic designers, copywriters and a media and videographer to support its growth plans.

The Sunderland-based agency has recently made its second appointment within six months, welcoming Jennifer Scullion as senior client manager who will be responsible for managing the organisations impressive client list across many sectors including construction, energy, health & fitness, financial, cyber security and fashion and clothing.

Jennifer is a highly experienced marketing, PR and communications professional and joins from her previous role where she was PR & Marketing Manager for a construction firm – a position she held for over four years.

Commenting on her appointment, Jennifer said: “I’m really excited by this new role and have so many ideas and so much energy and drive for my work. I was unexpectedly made redundant in February after the firm I was working for went into administration. I found myself in the unique position of having the chance to really take a step back and think about what I wanted to do and where my next career move should be.

“I’ve worked in-house for over 10 years and never thought I could, or would work for an agency but after meeting the team and listening to the vision for the business, it made me think twice. I’m delighted to be here.”

Blue Moon Marketing was launched in 2021 during the pandemic and is the brainchild of owner and business entrepreneur Anne Reynolds. The agency has seen rapid expansion with the appointment of client manager Keera Tate back in September and since then, outgrowing their previous premises and moving into new offices at Sunderland’s Doxford Park earlier this month [March].

Anne believes moving into Sunderland will support her continued growth strategy and aims to employ local people with plans to increase the workforce from three to ten over the next few months.

Reflecting on the move, Anne said: “The scale and growth of the business has come a lot quicker than I had originally planned and I’m really excited to expand the business further, starting with the Sunderland area.

“It’s come a long way since July 2021. When I decided to set-up my own agency, I remember being told that I’m starting at the worst possible time and I had also just become a new mum so it’s not been easy but look how far we’ve come. I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved and excited for the what the future holds.

“Culture is everything for Blue Moon, so as part of this recruitment drive, I’m looking for talented professionals to strengthen the core leadership team, driving the business forward and become role models for our younger team members. Jennifer is an exceptional marketing and PR professional and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with her, I’m really excited to have her on board. We’re here to break down barriers and offer a fresh approach to how external marketing services are perceived and delivered.”

Before Blue Moon Marketing, Anne worked for several agencies, starting her career as a research assistant and working her way up to account director. She managed large global accounts including P&G, Clearblue and in prestige beauty for Shiseido Group.
