Last week, we were thrilled to welcome Frankie to Blue Moon Marketing for a week-long work experience placement. From day one, Frankie became an enthusiastic and valuable member of the team, getting involved in a wide range of activities and embracing every opportunity to learn and grow.
During her time with us, Frankie supported the team across various areas, including social media post creation, research tasks, and blog writing. With a particular interest in social media, she worked closely with our social content team to broaden her understanding of content strategy, audience research, and best practice in campaign execution. Her input was creative, thoughtful, and clearly driven by a passion for the industry.
In her own words, Frankie shared the key skills she developed throughout the week:
- Teamwork – “I found that having others to work with and collaborate with on ideas is a useful tool for getting the best results from a task.”
- Creativity – “Being able to exercise creativity through platforms such as Canva was extremely valuable and allowed me to practise developing a process which I can use to produce quality work. Seeing a project go from beginning to end is really rewarding.”
- Time Management – “Often, tasks had a set deadline and therefore I had to allocate importance based on this. This meant that I was able to prioritise and execute the tasks I was given more efficiently.”
- Independence – “Despite there always being people around, sometimes it was required that I took work into my own hands and made decisions on my own. Using my own initiative meant that I could be self-reliant and decisive, basing my decisions on what I felt fit the task best.”
Frankie also reflected on the overall experience, sharing:
“Doing a week’s work experience at Blue Moon Marketing was an extremely valuable experience for me. Working and learning from Anne and the team was so inspiring, they really love their work and made me feel like part of the team, despite my short time there. I was given independent tasks to complete which really gave me the chance to make a difference and understand what working with a client involves. Altogether it was a great week and I found myself enjoying the whole experience.”
We’re proud to be a company that provides meaningful learning opportunities for young people. Research shows that those who gain early workplace experience are 86% more likely to be in employment or training just one year later, and they can earn up to 18% more over their careers.
Frankie’s time with us was a perfect example of how valuable these experiences can be – not just for the student, but for the team as a whole. Her ideas, dedication, and enthusiasm brought fresh energy into our work, and we’re confident she has a bright future ahead.
Thank you Frankie – it was a pleasure having you at Blue Moon Marketing, and we wish you all the best in your next steps!
